Volunteers in CBIK

Jisha Village Eco-cultural Tourism Project

Kiran

Kiran worked in Jisha Village with CBIK in 2002, while she was doing her undergraduate thesis project researching the feasibility of passive solar architecture in the traditional, local architecture. She spent her time collecting weather data, researching the local architecture, and investigating daily energy needs. In addition to her research, Kiran helped with various projects related to the ecotourism program in Jisha, including the production of a short documentary, the website, and editing of reports.

Han Han

My name is Han Han, a PhD student of ecology at Rutgers , the State University of New Jersey. I was honored to be a volunteer of Jisha Ecotourism Project in CBIK in July, 2005. I worked for the Northwest Yunnan tourism survey. Working for CBIK as a volunteer was my greatest experience. What I learn from this experience is far beyond things taught in class. I wish to work for CBIK again and look forward to developing such experience into my own career in China 's environmental protection. Feel free to contact me if you have any question: hhan@crssa.rutgers.edu

Gan Ning

Glad to receive an opportunity from CBIK that I can work as a volunteer (trainee) from July to October, 2005. During these 3 months, CBIK left a good expression on me. She let me know the tourism by sharp eyes. I had learnt more than just staying in the campus. Also, I had a chance to do some investigating of tourism model and writing the reports. Above of them, improve myself at a rapid clip.
Meanwhile, I known more about the reality of developed tourism nowadays in southwest of China. Thinking back now, I would like to get in touch with the location.  Besides of this, I would try to learn more theory of tourism. I expect to work again in CBIK.
